Its good, similar to Paris in his Sonic Jihad album, also Dead Prez has a similiar style all about political lyricism. 90s Rap is full of mceeing like this anyways. Peace.

Yeh I know its harder to rhyme but its also harder to flow, to be in synch with the beats and allow the music to also compliment the mcee's style. Have a listen to Channel Live and KRS1 in this one. You will see what I mean by flow as well as rhyming talent.

I dont mean to be inciteful but new skool doesnt seem to flow as effectively which ends up in making it seem like all the flowing is flat and uninspired. Anyways if you feel that rhyming is all its about then Peace

Did i say jeezy?
No i fuckin didnt.
I wasnt defending jeezy, just the new school as a whole.
If jeezy didnt do background vocals like "AYYY" he wouldnt get play.
and i think rhyming four syllables makes you someone worth looking up to.
Thats like saying being able to make half court shots doesnt make you good.
u prolly havent tried to rhyme tbf though. its harder than u think. (unless you do the goooshi meng, jeezy style)

Dude you think Jeezy rhyming with some slowass beat talking like he is at a baptist sermon is evidence of how evolved new skool is?
I'm smokiin iinglewood;; ii'm feelinn hella gewd... this is the pinnacle of multisyllable rhyming? Cmon man, Im not even the one holding mcees to this measuring stick. Its ridiculous to say 3 syllable rhymes or 2 syllable rhymes dont cut it. Like as if rhmying something with 4 syllables makes you a superstar. Its like I said, flows, rhyming to a beat be it 2 or 3.

yes it does. a monkey on a mic can rhyme one syllables. its easy. noobs rhyme one syllable.
Listen to melly mel's verse in Land of the gun. For an old school cat, he kicks it harder than i've ever heard anyone kick it ever on that track

i heard a funny word today, penis was the word what does it mean?
marcopolo3001 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
You have to be kidding right? I mean rhyming syllables be it 2 or 3 or whatever has nothing to do with rhyming talent. Its how clever your lyrics can be and still flow with the tempo or beats your using. Nowadays newskoolers are talking throughout the whole song, not even trying to make a decent flow. It all sounds rehashed from Young Jeezy, to fleezy & heezy & all other nameless newskoolers I dont know of.
I take Wu Tang, Del Tha Funky, KRS1, Das EFX over any of these newskool acts. So sad.

Is it really?
Or is the oldschool overrated?
pac never rhymed over three syllables, neither did biggie. Neither did eazy e, ice cube, ice t...
Ludacris, Eminem, Wayne, Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Celph titled, Nas, K-os, Immortal technique, Big L, Busta rhymes, and countless others rhyme three syllables on a regular basis.
Rap is like a sport, and just as athletes have gotten bigger and faster and overall better over time, so have rappers. |
